Ingredients:
Half of a slightly stale French baguette
1 cup milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Confectioner sugar
2 tablespoons Caribbean Rum (optional but recommended)
1 teaspoon butter
Directions:
Slice the « baguette » into 1 inch slices (2.5 centimeters).
Heat a buttered and large frying pan on medium high heat.
Mix milk, eggs, granulated sugar and Rum in a bowl and beat with a whisk for just 30 seconds.
Dip the slices into the mixture for 5 to 10 seconds to moisten.
Sprinkle each side of slices with confectioner sugar. They will get a nice golden brownish color while cooking.
Cook for 10 minutes returning the bread every other minute.
Serve immediately and enjoy when still warm.
