Ingredients:
For the Filling:
5 apples, peeled
5 Tablespoons of butter (2.5 oz)
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons of honey
1/4 cup of slivered almonds
Pinch of cinnamon
For the crust:
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
8 Tablespoon of butter (1 stick)
Directions:
To prepare the crust: melt the butter in the microwave oven or in a double boiler. Place the flour in a large
bowl, add the sugar, the egg and the melted butter. Mix well. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of water if necessary to
hold the dough.
Roll the dough into a large crust and place in a buttered 9” pie dish. Cut the apples into thin slices and
spread them onto the crust. Place in the oven for 30 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
Melt the 5 tablespoons of butter in a pan over low heat. Add the honey, sugar and almonds.
When the crust and apples are cooked, take the pie dish out of the oven and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon onto
the apples. Coat the apples with the butter/honey/almond mixture and return to the oven of 5-10 minutes, until
golden.
Serve warm. Bon appétit!
