    Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Sauce

    Serving: 6
    Preparation & baking time: 15 and 45 minutes


    Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries
  • 3 large whole eggs
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 3 oz unsalted sweet cream butter melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Directions:

    Wash the strawberries and remove the stems with a strawberry huller, or paring knife, or a corer,

    Mix half of the strawberries (1 pound) to obtain a puree and cut the other half into slices,

    In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, eggs, sugar and melted butter,

    Pour the strawberries cut into slices and half of the strawberry puree into the mixture,

    Pour the mixture into a rectangular 10" x 5" buttered cake pan,

    Bake in preheated oven at 350° Fahrenheit (180° Celsius) for 40 minutes,

    Serve when completely cold with the strawberry puree previously put aside.
