    Crème brulée

    Servings: 4
Preparation time: 10 minutes - The crème can be prepared the day before serving.
    Cooking time: 75 minutes

    Ingredients:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar (2 oz)
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar

  • Directions

Heat oven to 210 degrees F (maximum).
Heat cream in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.
Meanwhile, beat egg yolks and sugar until lemon colored.
    Stir in vanilla extract.
Gradually stir hot cream into egg yolk mixture.
Pour into small individual cups or in a 7" diameter pie dish.
Bake for about 75 minutes at 210 degrees F. Actually, it is done when a gentle shake of the dish causes only the center to ripple.
Refrigerate for at least two hours.
Just before serving, set oven control to broil.
Sprinkle brown sugar over crème brulée.
Broil until sugar forms a light burned glaze and serve.

    Bon Appétit!
