Ingredients:
5.3 oz stale bread
7 oz of any cheese with a soft washed-rind such as Saint Albray cheese
7 oz cooked or smoked ham – approximately 4 slices
4 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon Provence herbs
1 teaspoon butter to grease the dish
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Beat the large eggs with the milk, Provence herbs, salt and pepper,
Butter a baking dish (9" x 13"),
Cut the bread into small bites of 2 inches and place them at the bottom of the dish,
Cut the ham into small bites too and spread all over the bread,
Remove the rind of the cheese and cut into slices. Spread the cheese over the ham,
Pour the milk and eggs mixture onto the dish and place into preheated oven (400° F) for 30 minutes.
