    Nougatine Delicacy

    Servings: 6
    Preparation and cooking time: 30 minutes

    Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) round or sliced almonds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 Tbsp white vinegar


  • Directions:

    Grease a cake pan and a sheet of greaseproof paper.
    Prepare a caramel: Pour the sugar, water and white vinegar in a skillet.
    Cook on stove while stirring regularly.
    The mixture will foam and little by little reach its brown color.
    When the caramel is ready add the almonds.
    Work well with a wooden spatula to combine the almonds fully.
    Pour on the greased cake pan and cover with the greaseproof paper.
    With a rolling pin, stretch the dough to the desired thickness.
    You must work fast before it gets hard.
    Be CAREFUL! the dough is really HOT!
    With a mincing knife give the nougatine the shape you wish.
    Enjoy it (when cold) like a delicacy or use it to decorate cakes.
